The Buggy Delivery App is a grocery delivery service with its own Buggy Bucks rewards system, which gets you points as you spend money on the app. You also get the ability to order up to 30 days in advance, and with delivery (sometimes) available in as little as 15 minutes for the service's own Buggy Stores and 1 hour for grocery stores, it’s an interesting service.
On the other hand, Buggy’s fees are rather high compared to its competitors, and availability is limited to Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Montreal.

- Wide variety of specialty stores available, including the liquor stores and Costco
- Build your own "store boxes" to simplify the ordering process
- Referral bonus available
Our rating for the Buggy Delivery App: 2.7 stars
Buggy has earned a decent Genius Rating, gaining points for offering unique delivery options, including liquor stores and Costco. Its customizable "store boxes" feature is also pretty useful, simplifying the ordering process for items you purchase frequently.
Unfortunately, Buggy will only deliver items from 1 store at a time, significantly reducing its possible convenience factor. You can order from more than one store at a time, but you'll be charged as if each store is a separate order. Finally, Buggy's limited availability across the country caused the rating to dip a bit.
Rating methodology
To calculate our Genius Ratings, we compare the features of the account or product in question with other similar products in Canada. We give each feature a score out of 5 based on that comparison. Once we’ve rated all the features, we run them through our proprietary algorithm to produce a final rating out of 5.

What's good about the Buggy Delivery App
So, what does Buggy have going for it?
Wide variety of specialty stores available
Because Buggy isn’t tied to just a single store or chain, it isn’t just limited to groceries. You can also order things to be delivered from liquor stores, pharmacies, Walmart, Costco, Canadian Tire, and a wide variety of different specialty stops. Their staff will go to each different store, pick up what you’ve ordered, and deliver it to you all at once. This is a significant convenience for busy people.
Buggy Bucks loyalty program
Buggy has introduced their own loyalty program that is essentially cash back. You’ll get 1% back on your first 10 orders (1 cent per $1 spent), and 2% back on orders after that. You can redeem your Buggy Bucks for discounts on future orders. That’s a pretty nice bonus, especially if you’re already earning rewards by paying for orders on your credit card.
Place your order up to 30 days in advance
You can create your Buggy order and schedule delivery up to 30 days in advance. When we created our test order, the delivery options only went 15 days ahead, but the Buggy site claims it's 30 days. This is a significant convenience for people who like to plan ahead.
Short delivery times
If you’re not the sort to plan ahead, Buggy offers same-day delivery, often in as little as 1 hour for groceries and 15 minutes for Buggy Stores (the company's own store). When we created our test order for groceries at 2pm, we were able to have it delivered in 26 minutes. This isn’t always the case, unfortunately, as it does depend on if there are local Buggy drivers available, so it still pays to plan ahead if you can.
Customizable “store boxes”
If you have a number of items you purchase frequently, you can set up customized Buggy “boxes” of products from a particular store. This simplifies the ordering process a great deal, because once you’ve set these boxes up, you can add all of those items to your cart with a single click. A time saver for sure.
What to watch out for with the Buggy Delivery App
Unfortunately, Buggy suffers from some pretty serious drawbacks.
Very limited service area
Buggy is only available in a handful of cities across Canada, and their service area in those cities isn’t exactly complete. If you’re in their range, that’s great, but most of us aren’t. To find out if you’re in their delivery area, check out the Buggy coverage map.
Not all stores are available
Buggy has some unique store options, but they’re still pretty limited. While Costco, Canadian Tire, and Walmart are on the list (in Toronto at least), many large grocery chains are not. This reduces the usefulness of the service quite a bit.
Will only deliver from 1 store at a time
When we first looked at Buggy, there was the option to order from multiple stores for a single delivery, and they would charge a reduced fee for each store. That option is not currently available, so if you want to order items from 2 stores, you have to place 2 orders and pay the delivery fee for each. We’re not sure if Buggy will go back to their original multiple-store order system in the future, but it would be nice to see.
Complicated and hard-to-find fee structure
You will pay a minimum of $5.99 + tax for every grocery order on Buggy. It looks like orders from Buggy Stores cost less for delivery, but it's very difficult to find this information on the site. When we created a test order of items from Buggy Stores, the delivery fee was only $2.99. Bottom line: if you don't like unreliable fee structures, you won't like Buggy.
Fast turnaround orders depend on driver availability
While Buggy advertises delivery in as little as 1 hour, that depends on driver availability. If you happen to catch them on a busy day, you might be out of luck.
No promotional rates or free trial
Other competing grocery delivery services offer some sort of incentive for signing up and giving their service a try. Not so with Buggy.

Buggy Delivery App frequently asked questions
How much does Buggy charge per order?
Buggy charges a minimum $5.99 grocery delivery fee as well as a personal shopper picking fee, which will change with the size of your order. While Buggy offers some unique and convenient delivery options, its complicated fee system can be a pain to try and figure out, and quite a shock if you haven't figured it out beforehand.
Can I schedule my Buggy orders in advance?
You can schedule your Buggy orders up to 30 days in advance. They also offer delivery in as little as 15 minutes to an 1 hour, but that depends on driver availability.
Where is Buggy available?
Buggy is currently only available in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and Regina. They have a coverage map you can check to see if you’re in range, but it's safe to say that if you live anywhere east of Ottawa (other than Montreal), you won't be in the service area.
Is Buggy legit?
Yes, the Buggy Delivery App is a legitimate grocery delivery service. That said, it has high fees and limited availability, so you might be better off with another grocery delivery service. There is also no app on the Google Play store, so if you have an Android phone you're out of luck.
