TD Easy Trade product rating: 2.8 stars

TD Easy Trade is designed for those that are new to investing. But because it limits your options in both what you can invest and the types of accounts you can open, it naturally gets a lower Genius Rating than other online brokers.

Still, it has relatively low costs and provides new investors a platform with fewer options to make decisions easier.

Rating methodology

To evaluate online brokers, we analyze over 25 data points to generate a trustworthy Genius Rating. We consider all aspects of an online broker, including investment options, fees, perks, access to support, customer satisfaction, and promotions, to assess its overall value. Then, the online broker’s features are rated based on how they stack up against other available options.

The cons of TD Easy Trade

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind, which relate to TD Easy Trade being more of a product for beginners.

Cons

conLimited investment options

To keep things simple, you only get 3 investment choices with TD Easy Trade – stocks, TD ETFs, and TD ETF portfolios. If you want to invest in things like mutual funds, options, or other ETFs you're out of luck.

conLimited account types
