The pros of Airalo eSIM

Here are some excellent features that Airalo eSIM offers.

Pros

Offers data/call/text in select countries

This is rare of eSIM – plans that offer not only data, but also texting and phone calls. This isn't available in all countries, but it's a nice option if you need more than just data while you're away.

Pricing in multiple currencies

You can certainly pay in Canadian dollars with Airalo eSIM, something not everyone offers. But you have the ability to pay in other currencies should you choose, such as Euros, USD, or Pounds. If you have a no foreign exchange fee credit card you can judge if using another country might be slightly cheaper.

Plenty of regional plans

There's no shortage of places you can get an Airalo eSIM plan. There are 9 regional plans to choose from, a worldwide plan if you need it, with access to plans to most countries int he world.

The cons of Airalo eSIM

Really only one point to consider here:

Cons

Overlapping regional plans may offer better deals

If you are headed to a single country for a week but don't have huge data needs, you may find that it's actually a better deal to get a regional plan over a single-country plan with Airalo eSIM. For instance, a 7-day, 3GB plan for France is $7.00, but if you got the Eurolink package which covers 42 countries and networks, a 1GB plan is only $5.00. It's not a lot of difference, but it pays to check on the regional plans, especially if your data needs aren't that high.

FAQ

What is an eSIM provider?

eSIM providers let you buy data plans you can use in one or several countries all over the world, depending on the plan you choose. These providers install an electronic SIM card on your phone. Once you reach your destination, you switch the SIM card you are using to the provider's eSIM card and start using the plan you chose.

What does Airalo eSIM cost?

Airalo eSIM offers plans starting as low as $6.50 for many popular countries, including the United States and Europe.

How do eSIM providers work?

To get started with an eSIM provider, you have to get their app installed on your phone. YOu'll need to set up an account and choose what plan you want. Once chosen, the app will work to install an eSIM only on your device. This only has to be done the first time you use them. Once you reach your destination, simply select the proper SIM card to activate your plan.
